It’s their only claim to fame. Well, that and corporate chartering laws.
This plate is awesome tho:

Also the first state to go with El Cheapo flat, painted plates. Now they seem to be everywhere. I guess prisoners got too lazy to run stamping machines.

Prince Edward Island: Canada’s Delaware, but more specific.

At least they do it right with the plate staying with the owner and not the car. It baffles me that California keeps the same plates on the car. I see no benifits to that.

I’ve always been sad I can’t have that simple white on black plate. Especially, now that I have a black car.

I'm such an idiot. It took me way too long to realize that there wasn't some hidden message in the plate number that I was missing.

Isnt that how they do it in the UK, keeping number plates with cars?

Yup. Makes no sense.

Both my friends in Delaware have that plate. It is awesome.

It is kinda cool though. It makes the car have an identity. Makes no sense for the actual purpose of the plate (to tie registration of the car to the correct owner with an easy to read plate). But it is still interesting. Do any other states do that too?

I know Europe is like this.

The license plates are one of the few things I like about living here. Well, that, and the no sales tax thing.
I like my license plates like I like my ties. Too busy, too many colors, and people are bound to start making assumptions, if you know what I mean.
